Our History
Paul Brinker is the owner and operator of J&P Carpentry.
Woodworking has been a hobby for Paul since he left the US Air Force and has blossomed into a passion. When he retired from his mechanic's position in the airline and helicopter industry, he and his wife, Janet, decided it was time to turn the passion into something more, and together they started J&P Carpentry.
Paul is the designer, craftsman, and business head of J&P. Janet is the driving force behind the business, the critic, the additional labor, and the co-designer. Together, they make a great team driven to produce your families next heirloom.
Recently, J&P has expanded. They have added additional light labor in the shape of Jack Brinker, Paul's father. Having been an experienced craftsman himself, Jack is now involved in the problem solving and some light lifting in a pinch. On larger projects, Paul incorporates the skills and labor of his children, his two sons, James and Kenny, who have been the shop with Paul since they were big enough to walk. James offers skilled advice in the area of mechanic systems and problem solving, while Kenny offers design, CAD, and labor assistance. Paul's daughter, Wendy Doiron, and her husband, Ron, also provide labor, consultation, and their own special skill sets.
As you can tell, J&P is a family affair. When you hire J&P Carpentry to build furniture for you, know that they are welcoming you into their family and that your project will be done knowing that it is a family member that is receiving it.
